Purpose of the Role
As an Audit Senior you will support managers and assistants with audit portfolios, mentor junior staff, manage fieldwork, provide client service, and develop your technical and soft skills.
Accountabilities
- Act as the lead senior on audits, reporting to the audit manager.
- First point of contact for clients on site, addressing queries promptly.
- Develop and finalise the audit plan, identify key risks, plan work to address them.
- Set and monitor budgets, conduct fieldwork, draft financial statements, representations, findings reports, and assist for closing meetings.
- Lead fieldwork teams on larger or higher‑risk clients.
- Discuss and agree audit journals with clients during fieldwork.
- Notify manager of potential time overruns.
- Clear review points and address follow‑up queries until report signing.
- Ensure quality of financial statement disclosures using the applicable checklist.
- Identify weaknesses in clients' systems & controls, recommend improvements.
- Keep manager informed of issues, copy them in all emails.
- Maintain technical ability by attending webinars and staying current.
- Review working papers of junior team members during fieldwork and support their development.

You Will Have Experience In
- Recent audit and assurance experience in an accountancy practice.
- Qualified or almost qualified status (training and exam support provided).
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate.
- Experience leading external audit assignments from planning to completion under ISA.
- Experience preparing UK GAAP accounts.
- Independent work and teamwork skills.
- Effective communication with senior staff and clients.
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of audit risks and knowing when to seek assistance.
- Excellent organization and time management.
- Collaboration within a team environment.
