Job Description
All of the roles defined for a Design Engineer, plus
- Checking design data.
- Component / Tool check and buyoff.
- Providing support to manufacturing / design supply chains.
- Assisting the Design Manager with training, quotations, project management, and customer liaison.
Skills & Knowledge
All of the skills & knowledge defined for the Design Engineer, alongside a minimum of 4 years relevant experience, plus:
- A sound tool-design background in the creation of conceptual tool designs and development of the design to final product delivery.
- The ability to provide life-cycle support of tooling from concept design to in-service liaison with the customer.
- The ability to independently check CAD models, DWGs, methodology, designing for manufacture, BOMs, Poka-Yoke, ergonomics / HMI.
- A knowledge and interest of design for additive manufacture is desirable.
- The ability to lead a project, with minimal support from the Design Manager.
- Clear and confident verbal / written communication.
