AFC Fylde are looking to recruit a Recruitment Data Analyst (Intern) to support the Club’s player recruitment operations. Working closely with the Director of Football and Head of Recruitment, the candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the Club’s recruitment model. This position focuses on ensuring that robust data, analytics, and reporting systems underpin evidence-based decision making across player identification and assessment. This is an excellent opportunity for a postgraduate or aspiring analyst to apply quantitative methods within a professional football environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment Model & Systems
- Maintain and update the Club’s player recruitment database, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Develop and refine player scoring and ranking models aligned to Club DNA and playing style.
- Build dashboards and tools to enable efficient data interrogation by recruitment staff.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and models.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Source, clean, and process data from external platforms.
- Produce player comparison reports and positional benchmarking analysis.
- Support performance analysis with data-driven insights.
- Prepare clear data summaries and briefing materials for recruitment meetings.
- Process & Development
- Maintain documentation of data processes, structures, and model logic.
- Identify and introduce new data sources, metrics, or analytical techniques.
- Ensure all data activity complies with relevant legislation and Club policy.
About You
- Has a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Is familiar with football data and performance analysis metrics.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Has excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Communicates complex insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Shows initiative and can manage workload independently.
