Role Overview

AFC Fylde is seeking a dynamic First Team Sport Scientist to join our team and help elevate player performance through science-based Strength and Conditioning. This is a new role that will work closely with the Head of Medical and other key stakeholders, shaping a data-driven programme to optimize performance for both the team and individual players.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Define and implement a strategic vision for Strength and Conditioning, driven by data and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with the Director of Football, Head of Medical, and First Team Manager to ensure clear, cohesive strategies.
• Create clear communication channels to enhance understanding and the dissemination of information.
• Guide and motivate team members, helping them meet goals and performance targets.
• Manage training and development plans, providing regular feedback and conducting appraisals.
• Oversee departmental budgets and support career growth and development within the team.

• Strong experience in Strength and Conditioning, with a focus on data-driven, evidence-based practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate and align with various stakeholders.
• Ability to motivate and guide team members to meet performance targets and achieve their goals.
