AFC Industries Company is part of a fast-growing, global supply chain services group distributing a wide range of engineering fastener components to manufacturing industries ranging from medical and electronics equipment to motorsports and aerospace applications.

We have a strong reputation for delivering high-performing inventory solutions, known as VMI or Kanban systems, to solve customer challenges to have the right products at the right time in their production cycle. We take all their sourcing, purchasing, stocking and component management pain away to focus on making and selling products.

The General Manager has full operational and strategic responsibility for our AFC Keighley and Manchester business unit. The Deputy Manager role is there to support the region and General manager to exceed targets in line with AFC vision to expand our Northern region.

Key Responsibilities in line with the General Manager

  • Operational and strategic support
  • Drive and exceed sales and margin targets
  • Lead, motivate, and develop through strong leadership and communication
  • Manage and grow key accounts while developing new business opportunities
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, procurement and all central AFC teams
  • Proactively manage low-margin or loss-making accounts
  • Ensure efficient stock management in collaboration with procurement
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment across teams
  • Deliver timely monthly operational and financial KPI reporting
  • Ensure compliance with QMS and Health & Safety standards
  • Identify recruitment needs and support hiring with HR
  • Develop and support employees through coaching and training

Reporting Line

Northern region. Reporting line: - General Manager - President - Executive Vice President - Executive Team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Fasteners or associated component experience preferred
  • Understanding of sales, administration, logistics & site management
  • Analytical and structured working approach
  • Reporting and KPI reports to head office in England – LV & Phocas
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS)
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office & Operational software)

Office-based position, although travel to new and potential Customers as well as other regional branches is required.
