Purpose of the Role:

The primary purpose of the role of the Women's Team Development Coach is to develop the individual talent of players within the Women's Team. The secondary purpose of the role is to support the Women's Team Head and Assistant Coaches in all aspects of team preparation, performance and administration. This role is pivotal within the football operations structure, contributing to the club's strategic goals and on-pitch success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, delivery and evaluation of individual player development plans that include grass delivery, one-to-one meetings, analysis sessions and clearly defined KPIs aligned with Women's Team player profiles.
  • Assist the Women's Team Head Coach in planning, delivery and review of training sessions aligned with the club's playing philosophy. Lead when required.
  • Assist the Women's Team Head Coach in planning, delivery and review of matchday competition aligned with the club's playing philosophy. Lead when required.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal team performance, player development and welfare.
  • Contribute to squad selection and player recruitment discussions.
  • Represent the club professionally in media duties, community engagements and internal meetings when required.
  • Maintain high standards of discipline, professionalism, and performance across the squad.
  • Take on additional reasonable duties if asked to do so by the Women's Team Head Coach or Head of Women's Football.

General:

  • As a member of staff, ensure in all matters, you follow and actively promote the club's mental health policies and practices to ensure an open, non-judgmental and inclusive environment for everyone engaged with the club.
  • Adhere to the club's safeguarding policies and procedures and are committed to our safeguarding values, creating a safe and positive environment for all those who interact with the club.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • UEFA C Licence.
  • Proven experience in player development within football.
  • Strong understanding of player development, learning and individual plans.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to AFC Bournemouth's values, culture, and long-term vision.
  • Familiarity with modern performance analysis tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong media and public speaking skills.
