– £59,049 (under review) LOCATION:AFBI Crossnacreevy, 50 Houston Road, Crossnacreevy, Belfast BT6 9SH AFBI is now seeking an enthusiastic, internationally recognised scientist with a high level of expertise and knowledge of agronomy and plant sciences.
The post holder will have oversight and responsibility of work programmes based at AFBI Crossnacreevy.
The successful candidate will further develop AFBIs work programme aligned with the statutory testing requirements for grass and cereal varieties and seeds.
They will also take forward a research programme with a focus on advancing scientific knowledge in the area of how plants and agronomy can support climate resilience, minimise the environmental impact of land use while also maximizing the economic value that can be attained from land Further appointments may be made from this competition should AFBI positions become vacant which have similar duties and responsibilities.
