Role Description
The Storeman and Semi Skilled Labourer is a full-time, on-site role based in Aberdeen. This position is responsible for receiving, checking, and safely storing materials and equipment, maintaining accurate stock records, and preparing items for use on fabrication and welding projects. Day-to-day tasks include organizing the warehouse and yard, assisting with loading and unloading deliveries, and ensuring tools and consumables are available and in good condition for the workshop and site teams. The role also involves supporting skilled trades by carrying out basic fabrication and labouring tasks under supervision, such as handling materials, performing simple preparatory work, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Collaboration with supervisors, welders, fitters, and project teams is essential to ensure efficient operations and timely project delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience in stores or warehouse operations, including stock control, inventory checks, and safe handling of materials.
- Basic mechanical or fabrication skills, with the ability to perform semi skilled labouring tasks under supervision in a workshop or industrial environment.
- Strong focus on health and safety, including safe lifting practices, use of PPE, and adherence to site safety procedures.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to work constructively with supervisors, tradespeople, and site personnel.
- Ability to work on-site in Aberdeen, including working in outdoor and industrial conditions as required.
- Previous experience in oil and gas, marine, or steel fabrication environments is an advantage.
- Forklift or other relevant material-handling certification is beneficial.
- Basic IT skills for using stock systems and completing simple documentation are desirable.
