We are looking for a kind, reliable, and proactive person to join our home and provide a mix of personal care and practical household support. This role is about making day‑to‑day life smoother, calmer, and more manageable in a busy family environment.

You will be supporting an adult with fluctuating mobility and health needs, alongside helping to keep the home running and supporting routines with two young children, including one autistic child and one with complex disabilities and behaviours.

Hours: Part‑time, approximately 17 hours per week, worked across weekdays.

  • Monday to Friday: 6:30/7:00 am – 9:00/10:00 am (supporting morning routine and school run)
  • One day per week (ideally Tuesday): 4‑hour shift between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (focused on domestic tasks)
  • Additional hours: Occasional shifts between 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm may be available during periods of increased support needs.

Exact hours and flexibility can be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.

What the role involves:

  • Gentle support with personal care, dressing, meals, and medication prompts.
  • Helping with mobility and adapting support depending on daily needs.
  • Keeping the home tidy and organised (laundry, light cleaning, kitchen tasks).
  • Supporting daily routines with prompts, structure, and time awareness.
  • Helping with children’s routines such as getting ready, meals, and hair care.
  • Providing calm, reassuring support and helping during more challenging moments.
  • Assisting with school runs, errands, and day‑to‑day tasks, especially during flare‑ups or low mobility days.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Calm, patient, and dependable.
  • Practical, organised, and able to take initiative.
  • Comfortable around children, including additional needs.
  • Flexible and understanding that every day can look a little different.
  • Respectful, non‑judgemental, and values dignity and independence.

This is a supportive, informal home environment where kindness, humour, and a steady presence really matter. The right person will feel like a natural extension of the household while maintaining appropriate boundaries. This role involves intimate personal care, so we are seeking a female‑identifying carer. Applications from cis and trans women, and non‑binary individuals, are warmly welcomed.
