TRANSPORT PLANNER – DEVELOPMENT PLANNING Location: Nottingham Experience: 1–3 years Job Type: Full-time, Permanent THE OPPORTUNITY An established consultancy in Nottingham is looking for a Transport Planner to join its development planning team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years’ experience to work on a variety of development projects, supporting planning applications and delivering sustainable transport solutions. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, developers, planning consultants and local authorities, with opportunities to develop your technical skills and progress your career. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist in preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans. • Assess the transport implications of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. • Undertake accessibility reviews and analyse traffic and transport data. • Support trip generation, junction capacity assessments and traffic impact analysis. • Prepare technical reports and supporting documents for planning applications. • Liaise with clients, developers, consultants and local authorities. • Support sustainable transport, active travel and development planning strategies. ABOUT YOU • 1–3 years’ experience in transport planning, ideally within development planning or consultancy. • A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. • An understanding of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and the planning application process. • Strong analytical, report-writing and communication skills. • Good organisational skills and attention to detail. • Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with TRICS, Junctions 10, LINSIG, AutoCAD or GIS would be advantageous.
