We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering Department
Reporting to Design Lead & Production Manager, the role will include, but is not exclusive to:
- Ensure compliance with agreed build specification and company design criteria.
- Communicate with the Works planning and supervisory team to ensure internal production targets and delivery dates of specific contracts are achieved.
- Ensure allocated design works are in accordance with the AFS production planned schedules.
- Technical liaisons with AFS Engineering, fabrication and copper cell.
- To set a professional standard.
- To collaborate with other departments in the company to enhance the design process.
- Increase department efficiency and overall design productivity.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement to adopt best practices and standards for CAD based engineering projects.
- To drive forward standardisation and minimise the requirement for rework.
- Work closely with electrical engineering and collaborate with the aim of continuous improvement between both design processes.
- Generate clear and technical assembly drawings.
- Raise internal purchasing requests required for the relevant contract.
- Compilation of all data to enable invoicing to be recorded accurately.
- Responsibility for complying with and implementing the BS EN ISO 9001 system within their area of activity.
- Attend meetings as required/requested.
- Attend regular design meetings where necessary to provide technical advice on the practicalities of upcoming Designs
- Any situations that require disciplinary procedures should immediately be brought to the attention of the AF Group HR department in the first instance and subsequently the Engineering Director or a Contracts Engineer if not available.
- To inform the local Managers of any departmental concerns.
- Ensure full compliance with the company’s Business Management System within your area of responsibility
