A+F Recruitment is partnering with a multinational investment bank to recruit a senior Product Control Manager focused on Fixed Income and Derivatives. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Product Controller to join a high calibre Finance and Control function supporting the bank’s trading activities across European markets.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Management Reporting and Product Control. The role requires full ownership of daily P&L production, valuation control and balance sheet substantiation for fixed income and derivatives trading books. It combines hands‑on technical work with direct engagement with trading desk heads, risk management, treasury, valuation teams and finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Produce and validate daily P&L for fixed income and derivatives trading desks, including clear commentary and variance analysis.
- Substantiate balance sheet positions for trading books, ensuring valuation accuracy and detailed reconciliation.
- Investigate and resolve P&L breaks and pricing discrepancies, working closely with front office and support functions.
- Perform independent price verification and market conformity checks using external market data.
- Review valuation adjustments, funding charges and associated fees.
- Assess hedge effectiveness and work with Treasury, Risk and Operations on trading activity oversight.
- Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close for trading portfolios.
- Drive enhancements in reporting processes, automation and data quality.
- Act as a key point of contact for auditors and front office on valuation and P&L matters.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Extensive Product Control experience within an international investment bank.
- Strong knowledge of fixed income and derivatives products such as rates, FX and credit.
- Hands‑on background in Finance and Control with direct exposure to daily P&L production, valuation and reconciliation.
- Proven experience interacting with front office and supporting the trading book.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards including IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical capability and proficiency in market data, valuation concepts and technical problem solving.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and challenge stakeholders where necessary.
- Professional approach with the ability to work both independently and within cross‑functional teams.
- Professional accounting or finance qualification.
- Consulting experience only when combined with a genuine Product Control background.
- Experience working with international teams and auditors.
