The predicted salary is between 12 - 16 £ per hour.

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Hours: 21 – 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday 9am to 4pm)

Location: Stowmarket

The role is offering 4 days per week which can be flexible. Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm with no weekends and opportunity to work extra days when needed (cover sickness and A/L).

Job Summary: Learning Mentors work flexibly to ensure young adults with severe learning disabilities, autism, complex and challenging needs have access to meaningful and progressive day opportunities. Enabling service users to participate in a range of learning activities which provide opportunities that help them to increase independence and achieve as ‘normal’ and fulfilling a lifestyle as possible. Ensuring learning plans and behaviour management strategies are implemented consistently.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work supervised and unsupervised with an individual service user or small groups.
  • Support the effective functioning of the team by ensuring that good relationships with colleagues are established and maintained and by adopting a constructive, reflective approach.
  • Assist the manager by ensuring the effective and efficient use of available resources.
  • Contribute to the planning, monitoring, implementing and recording of service delivery.
  • Contribute to the health, safety and security of individuals and the environment.
  • Maintain and control stock, equipment and materials.
  • Acknowledge how and when to call emergency services.
  • Assist in daily domestic / cleaning chores.
  • To attend all required training in order to fulfil the expectations of this job description.
