A company that now owns 252 SPAR convenience stores and employs more than 5,000 people, with a turnover of £1.3 billion. Job Purpose: Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. As the leader of the \'Marketing team\' the key purpose of this role is to deliver the marketing strategy to increase brand/customer engagement, purchase conversion and basket value thus revenue and loyalty. Key responsibilities include leading the insight, marketing and digital team to identify impactful business and customer insights, deliver marketing plans and campaigns across all channels and in store, analysing performance data to drive ROMI within budget, and growth of Home Delivery and Media business revenue. This role also involves collaborating across divisions and functions in addition to work with SPAR UK and International Marketing Groups ensuring consistent brand messaging and best practice. Key Tasks/Responsibilities: Customer Champion, data analytics and insight Champion customer trends and insights that positively build behaviour in our favour and actions required to capitalise on these across the business. Ensure these are understood, quantified and prioritised by stakeholders at all levels. Performance Analysis: Analyse category and competitor activities to help understand performance and identify growth opportunities. Set, report on and deliver lead and lag customer and Revenue KPI\'s including footfall, basket size, category participation and ROMI. Utilise data analytics to track campaign performance, understand customer journeys, and personalise marketing efforts. Customer Strategy Development B2B and B2C Develop and prioritise a view of customer segments, missions and locations alongside brands and initiatives that win share of these. Develop and implement overarching omnichannel marketing strategies aligned with business goals, leveraging SPAR best practice. Collaborate with the Merchandising, Operations, and Sales teams to develop integrated campaigns that support launches and promotions. Customer and Brand Plans and Budget Overall leadership of the customer, brand and marketing plans delivering local and national campaigns across both divisions within budget. Monitor, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies. Guide the creation of compelling and consistent content across all digital platforms to maintain brand integrity. Delivery of Online and Media Revenue Develop and deliver growth of revenue from Home delivery, instore media and Local Marketing. Team Leadership Work closely with the CCO and other senior leaders to align initiatives with business-wide goals. Lead, motivate and develop the team. Proven experience in customer insight, segmentation and data analytics. Delivery of successful integrated commercial marketing campaigns using traditional and digital marketing channels. Successful experience in developing brands, range and product architecture and value positioning. Understanding of commercial, wholesale and retail functions and ability to amplify initiatives. Understanding – ideally proven experience – in driving revenue from digital channels and/or media Qualifications & competencies: Education to degree equivalent, min. 10 years progressive marketing experience and successfully operated as a senior marketing leader. Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal skills and ability to develop high performing talent. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
