Customer Team Member (18+) SPAR Market Harborough

We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. As a Customer Team Member at SPAR Market Harborough, you will support our store management team and ensure a positive customer experience. Your role includes maximising sales and profit by completing assigned tasks that contribute to the store\’s continuous improvement, delivering excellent customer service through ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later and Food for now!’

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greeting customers warmly and friendly.
  • Answering inquiries about products and services, helping customers find items.
  • Processing transactions efficiently and accurately at the tills, maintaining friendly service.
  • Upselling products and highlighting offers to maximise sales.

Store Operations:

  • Stock work: checking deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining cleanliness, rotating stock for freshness and expiry management.
  • Completing tasks such as date checking, stock checks, price updates, promotional displays, and other duties as assigned.
  • Following all company policies and procedures.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience in a similar role or industry is preferred.
  • Reliable with strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of retail legislative responsibilities and compliance skills.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for customer service and business growth.
  • Experience with ‘Challenge 25’ policy is desirable.
  • Enthusiastic team player and independent worker.
  • Cash handling experience is a plus but not essential.
