The role:

To provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, visitors, employees, and hotel assets during night operations. The Night Security Officer will maintain high standards of security, customer service, and professionalism while supporting the luxury guest experience that reflects the values and hospitality standards of Aethos Hotels. Aethos properties focus on wellness, community, and exceptional guest experiences, requiring security personnel who combine vigilance with outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the hotel, grounds, car parks, and public areas.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and security alarms, responding promptly to incidents.
  • Control access to the property, ensuring only authorised persons enter restricted areas.
  • Complete security checks of doors, windows, fire exits, and plant rooms.
  • Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, disturbances, and evacuations.
  • Assist with lost property procedures and security investigations.
  • Prepare accurate incident and occurrence reports.
  • Provide a professional, friendly, and approachable presence throughout the night.
  • Assist guests with directions, enquiries, and minor requests.
  • Support the Night Manager and Front Office team when required.
  • Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally, escalating where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel health and safety procedures.
  • Carry out fire safety checks and emergency equipment inspections.
  • Report hazards, maintenance issues, and security risks promptly.
  • Support emergency response procedures and business continuity plans.
  • Maintain detailed shift logs and handover reports.
  • Monitor contractor activity and deliveries during night hours.
  • Assist with crowd management during events or special functions.
  • Ensure hotel policies and procedures are followed at all times.

About you:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably within hospitality, hotels, or customer-facing environments.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard Licence.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Strong observational and report‑writing skills.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

Desirable:

  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Experience working in luxury hotels or hospitality environments.
  • Knowledge of fire safety and evacuation procedures.
  • CCTV operation experience.
