THE ROLE
The Commis Chef is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of food under the guidance of senior chefs.
This entry-level role provides hands-on experience across various kitchen sections, supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality dishes efficiently.
You will be a visible presence in the kitchen, calm under pressure, generous with knowledge, and deeply committed to quality, consistency, and culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place according to recipes and guidelines provided by senior chefs.
- Support senior chefs in managing assigned kitchen stations (e. g., robata, salads ) by preparing and assembling dishes as required.
- Ensure all food items are prepared and presented according to quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils.
- Assist in stock rotation, inventory control, and ordering of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, including food hygiene and sanitation practices, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Continuously learn and improve culinary skills through on-the-job training, guidance from senior chefs, and participation in kitchen activities.
