Our client, a growing accountancy firm in London, is looking for a Tax Assistant Manager. This is a mixed-tax role which will cover both private client and corporate tax work. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, deliver high-quality advisory work, and mentor junior staff within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
Working closely with the leadership team at the firm, you will handle a blend of personal and corporate tax matters, predominantly focusing on owner-managed businesses (OMBs), SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).
- Portfolio Management: Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of mixed tax clients, ensuring compliance and offering proactive tax planning.
- Compliance: Prepare/review complex personal tax returns, corporation tax computations, P11Ds, and ATED returns prepared by seniors and trainees.
- Technical Research: Conduct in-depth research on technical issues, prepare tax advice reports, and handle HMRC enquiries.
- Supervision: Supervise and review the work of junior advisers, assisting with their training and professional development.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities to enhance tax service delivery and support the team with business development.
- Advisory Projects: Deliver complex mixed tax advisory projects including corporate restructuring, profit extraction, IHT planning, property transactions, and SEIS/EIS.

Requirements:
- Have a minimum of 5 years tax experience at a UK accountancy firm.
- Ideally be CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser) qualified; ATT/ACA/ACCA qualified candidates with strong experience will also be considered.
- Have both personal tax (private client) and corporate tax experience.
- Have strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation (SRT, remittance basis, CGT, IHT, and corporate tax).
