We are seeking a Sonographer to join our client's dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting diagnostic medical sonography examinations and ultrasound imaging in accordance with professional standards, facility protocols, and patient safety policies.
- Reviewing patient medical history.
- Performing clinical assessments ordered by supervising physicians.
- Ensuring equipment operates at optimal levels through quality control and documenting incidental findings that impact care.
- Maintaining facility database records and logs.
- Verifying that examination results meet Quality Assurance standards prior to interpretation.
- Recommending necessary training to the Clinical Manager or Chief/Principal Radiographer.
Requirements:
- The candidate must hold a valid Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) License.
- The candidate must possess at least 2 years of relevant experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector.
Core Skills Required:
- Technical Proficiency & Imaging Expertise: Deep mastery of ultrasound equipment, machine calibration, frequency adjustments, and Doppler imaging to capture high-resolution diagnostic scans of internal organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues.
- Anatomical & Medical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology to accurately differentiate between normal structures and clinical abnormalities during an exam.
- Patient Care & Assessment: Strong interpersonal skills to evaluate patient medical history, explain procedures, ensure patient safety and comfort, and properly position patients for specialized scans.
- Critical Thinking & Attention to Detail: Ability to recognize incidental findings or critical medical indicators, document them precisely, and verify that imaging results meet strict Quality Assurance (QA) standards before interpretation by a physician.
- Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to radiation safety (where applicable), infection control protocols, hospital policies, and maintaining a valid Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) license.
