We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes or receiving home care services. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on residents’ lives while developing valuable skills within the healthcare sector. The role requires excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • - Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
  • - Support individuals with their care plans, ensuring personalised needs are met with compassion and respect
  • - Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
  • - Help with meal preparation and assist during mealtimes as required
  • - Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
  • - Support with light domestic tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • - Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments, where necessary
  • - Adhere to health and safety policies, including infection control procedures

Skills and Requirements:

  • - Experience working in a Supported living or care homes or providing home care is advantageous; online trainings will be provided
  • - Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately
  • - Good IT skills for maintaining records and documentation
  • - Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • - Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  • - Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
  • - Organised, reliable, and attentive to detail in all aspects of care delivery

Job Types: Temporary, Zero hours contract - Shifts of upto 40 hours a week available

Experience:

Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Enhanced DBS (required after interview)
  • Moving and Handling of People (Practical) Training? (required after interview)
  • United Kingdom (required)

Willingness to travel:

75% (preferred)

Work Location: In person: Kingston-upon-Thames (KT4, KT12, KT16)
