We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef Manager to lead the catering operations in our care home. This role involves managing the kitchen team, planning menus, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the catering team, including chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Plan and deliver seasonal, nutritious menus tailored to residents’ needs.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and allergy management standards.
- Manage kitchen budgets, stock control, and ordering of supplies.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff.
- Work closely with care staff to understand residents’ dietary requirements.
- Ensure all meals are presented attractively and served on time.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with company and regulatory policies.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, or similar leadership role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements, especially in care settings.
- Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and evenings.
Desirable Skills:
- Professional culinary qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or higher).
- Food Safety & Hygiene Level 3 or above.
- Experience in healthcare or care home catering.
