Senior Fire Engineer

  • JOB PURPOSE
  • Deliver consultancy and design services to AESG's clients.
  • Execution of projects.
  • Assist in business development activities related to consultancy services.
  • QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent. (Preferable: MSc Degree level with relevant academic or with post academic professional qualifications to carry out the role)
  • Required minimum experience: 4-8 years.
  • Preferable experience with Fire modelling such as Pyrosim/FDS or equivalent & Evacuation modelling

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently manage, lead and undertake the delivery of projects and resolve project issues in a client facing role.
  • Inspection, design and plan review for all fire protection systems and life safety as per relevant fire codes.
  • Preparing and implementing fire and life safety strategy report and fire and life safety designs.
  • Assist the division's senior leadership, including overseeing and reviewing the work of junior employees, assisting them in dealing with complex situations where required.
  • Demonstrate expertise in discipline with a proven track record of success.
  • Delivery of consultancy projects to high levels of quality within projects deadlines.
  • Assist FLS Director in commercial management of projects and their delivery.
  • Protect AESG liability exposure across projects and manage technical risk.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding and strong knowledge of the regulatory requirements/guidance in regard to fire safety, fire design and its implementation.
  • Support development of procedures to improve division function and efficiency.
  • Supporting training and development of junior employees with mentoring as required.
  • Assist in preparing proposals when required.
  • Maintain high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Actively pursue continued professional development through completion of training modules.
  • Engaging in the implementation and maintenance of the IMS and its processes and in achieving expected outputs.
  • Conducting all their activities in quality, healthy and safe manner and reporting any observed problems/risks to the concerned head or personnel.
