Job Description

At AESG we are looking for a Principal Fire Engineer to support the Building Safety & Advisory division and work alongside our other specialist disciplines. The role will be based in London, UK, supporting the successful delivery of UK and international projects, working with project team throughout all project phases and covering all aspects of Fire Engineering.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Principal Fire Engineer seeking a position within a growing and ambitious company with a unique service offering that provides a significant opportunity for progression and career development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage, lead and undertake the delivery of complex projects and resolve complex project issues in a client facing role.
  • Inspection, design and plan review for all fire protection systems and life safety as per relevant fire codes.
  • Preparing and implementing fire and life safety strategy report and fire and life safety designs.
  • Assist with technical leadership and support across AESGs Fire & Life Safety offerings as part of the divisions senior leadership, including overseeing and reviewing the work of junior employees, assisting them in dealing with complex situations where required.
  • Demonstrate expertise in discipline with a proven track record of success.
  • Delivery of consultancy projects to high levels of quality within projects deadlines.
  • Assist Fire & Life Safety Director in commercial management of projects and their delivery.Protect AESG liability exposure across projects and manage technical risk.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding and strong knowledge of the regulatory requirements/guidance in regard to fire safety, fire design and its implementation.
  • Support development of procedures to improve division function and efficiency.
  • Supporting training and development of junior employees with mentoring as required.
  • Assist in preparing proposals when required.
  • Maintain high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Actively pursue continued professional development through completion of training modules.

Qualification /Experience

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ideally qualified to MSc Degree level with relevant academic or with post academic professional qualifications to carry out the role.
  • Required minimum experience: 6-10 years.
  • Preferable: Chartered Engineer or aspiring/on the pathway to application.
  • Fire modelling such as Pyrosim/FDS or equivalent
  • Evacuation modelling
