We support our clients in developing robust Asset Protection Programmes and a company/site-wide Security Design that integrates physical, electronic, and operational security into a unified and effective strategy.
We seek an experienced Principal Security Consultant to join our team in London, UK. The Principal Security Consultant will play a pivotal role in advising on and implementing advanced physical security solutions for high-profile projects across the UK. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in physical security, risk assessment, and the integration of security measures within the built environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the latest security technologies, regulatory standards, and best practices in physical security design.
The Senior Security Consultant will have a broad understanding of threat, vulnerability, and risk, as well as strengths in particular areas, e.g. risk assessment, security surveys and specialist mitigations. They should be knowledgeable in the process and application of measures for the protection of assets and the built environment in the widest sense and are likely to have experience and an understanding of most of the specialist competence areas. They should be able to provide technical information to specialists and also be able to communicate clearly with non-specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage physical security projects from conception through to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate security requirements seamlessly into project designs.
- Develop comprehensive physical security plans that address client needs and comply with regional regulations and international standards.
- Design and specify security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter security, and other related systems.
- Conduct site assessments and risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and maintaining strong relationships.
- Prepare and present detailed security reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct training and workshops for clients and project teams on security best practices and system operations.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in physical security technologies and trends.
- Innovate and apply new security solutions and methodologies to enhance project outcomes.
- Ensure all security designs are scalable, sustainable, and future-proof.
- Contribute to the development of the company CAD library and develop security related CAD and BIM methodology, material and intellectual property.
- Build relationships with manufacturers and if necessary, hold meetings with manufacturers and integrators to assist you to prepare a final scheme design or tender package.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a security risk management or built environment discipline in security studies, physical security engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in physical security consulting, particularly within the built environment.
- Preferred certifications are: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP) and Certified Security Consultant (CSC). Additional relevant certifications related to security systems and risk management.
- Proven track record of working on high-profile projects, including commercial buildings, residential complexes, and critical infrastructure.
- Software experience using AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, SketchUp, Bluebeam Revu, JVSG, VideoCAD Professional, Hawksight SRM.
