Fixed 1 Year Contract - Maternity Cover

AESC UK is seeking to recruit an experienced HR Officer to join our HR team on a maternity cover basis. This role will play an important part in supporting the ongoing expansion of our battery manufacturing plant in Sunderland. As an HR Officer, you will provide comprehensive support across the organisation in a fully generalist HR role, working closely with managers and employees to deliver effective people solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and operation of a world‑class Gigafactory and to be part of a major industrial transformation within the electric vehicle sector, while providing cover for a key member of the HR team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage ER issues, including disciplinary and grievance handling, performance management and day to day advice on terms and conditions.
  • Deliver effective support to the HR Specialist and the wider business, ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of the HR function.
  • Support employee/trade union relations.
  • Assisting in talent management and the recruitment process.
  • Produce and analyse reports on general HR activity and KPI’s.
  • Absence management.
  • Maintain and update employee records.
  • Administration of employee benefits.
  • Payroll processing and handling job changes (promotions, salary changes, leavers etc.).
  • Employee engagement.
  • HR project work.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ideally degree qualified, with 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience of dealing with all aspects of Employee Relations.
  • Experience within the manufacturing/automotive working environment desirable.
  • Experience of working within a unionised environment desirable.
  • Proven communication and influencing skills are critical to the role.
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
  • Comprehensive PC skills.
