Cambridgeshire | 11-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Hybrid – 3 Days On-Site Up to £40,000 + Bonus + Pension + Healthcare An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to join a highly innovative, rapidly developing technology business. Working as part of an established Supply Chain team, you will support purchasing, supplier management and supply-chain activities while using data and analysis to improve cost, quality, delivery and supply continuity. The position combines hands-on procurement with supplier interaction, reporting and continuous improvement. THE ROLE You will be responsible for: * Managing day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase orders, expediting, returns and supplier communication * Preparing and managing RFIs, RFQs and supplier benchmarking * Analysing demand, cost, inventory and supplier performance data * Supporting ERP and supply-chain reporting improvements * Identifying and mitigating supply-chain risks THE PERSON We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded individual with experience within procurement, purchasing, supply chain or operations support. You should ideally have: * Experience of purchase order management and supplier communication * Strong analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel * Experience of ERP/MRP or similar business systems * Degree-level qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations or a related discipline – or equivalent experience * CIPS or another professional procurement qualification would be advantageous This would suit an ambitious Junior Buyer, Buyer, Procurement Coordinator, Purchasing Assistant or Supply Chain professional looking to develop within a technically advanced and fast-moving environment.
