Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Mechanic role based in York. The Mechanic will perform routine and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacement. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical issues, troubleshooting faults, and carrying out repairs on heavy equipment and related machinery. The role involves documenting work performed, following safety procedures and company standards, and coordinating with supervisors and colleagues to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities. The Mechanic will also support preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for mechanical systems and equipment.
- Candidates should possess practical experience in Preventive Maintenance to support scheduled service and reduce unplanned breakdowns.
- Candidates should possess capabilities working with Heavy Equipment, including safe operation and repair of industrial machinery.
- Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical faults and identify appropriate corrective actions.
- Relevant vocational training or certification in mechanical engineering, automotive, or industrial maintenance is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and work orders is beneficial.
- Experience working in an industrial or facilities environment and familiarity with health and safety regulations is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, reliable time management, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team are beneficial.
