We are seeking a System Architect to help lead the design and integration of advanced software and hardware systems across our autonomous vehicle platform. This role bridges engineering disciplines to ensure system performance and scalability as AeroVect continues to develop its autonomous solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Head of Systems to drive the definition, evolution, verification, and deployment of dependable, safety‑critical systems for autonomous vehicle architecture in the airport driving environment.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align on a cohesive strategy for architecture and integration.
  • Architect solutions for scalability and usability, ensuring robust performance in time‑ and safety‑critical production operations.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end system integration, collaborating to identify and resolve architectural issues.
  • Lead design reviews and design trade‑off analyses.
  • Translate key stakeholder needs into tiered system requirements.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for data‑driven engineering and system performance.
  • Support FMEA analyses and risk assessments.
  • Mentor engineers in system‑level thinking and interface design.
Required Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing and deploying complex, integrated systems with safety‑critical components.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and integration.
  • Demonstrated experience with system documentation, including requirements, architecture, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions across all levels of the organization.
  • Hands‑on approach with a willingness to engage deeply and enjoy the work in a fast‑paced startup environment with distributed, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Proximity to Atlanta, open to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience developing and deploying autonomous vehicles, autonomous systems, robotics, or ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
  • Experience with DOORS, Jama, Polarion, Enterprise Architect, etc.
  • Experience with real‑time operating systems (RTOS) and networking protocols.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in the development and deployment of complex autonomous systems (including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL 4600, IEC 61508, ANSI B56.5, ISO 3691, ANSI 15.08).
  • Experience with safety in the context of aviation/airline and/or robotics applications.
  • Familiarity with the airside driving environment at major global airports.
  • Experience with cybersecurity (especially for automated vehicles).
  • Experience with data science and statistical analysis.
  • Located in or willingness to relocate to Atlanta.
