This on-site role is an immediate requirement, located at 6 Kilmartin Pl, Uddingston, Glasgow G71 5PH.

Salary: £36,000 per annum, DOE

Benefits: Company Pension Scheme, 30 days holiday entitlement per year and further benefits available including flexi-time and a generous bonus scheme.

Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Based in Uddingston, the company specialises in the repair and overhaul of Electrical & Mechanical components for the aerospace industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to forward their career in the aviation sector, with the opportunity to further progress within the company and expand their technical expertise and education through our learning partnerships.

The Mechanical Engineering Technician role involves:

  • The repair of precision mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components including disassembly, inspection, fault-finding, build and test utilising company provided tooling and equipment.
  • Detailed reporting of shop findings to meet the requirements of aviation industry regulations and the company Quality Management System.
  • Ensuring work is completed and documented in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Working with minimum supervision utilising technical data to complete repairs.

Essential Experience & Skills Required:

  • Relevant hands-on, bench-work experience in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering, 2 years minimum.
  • Expected as a minimum to have a HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and associated information.
  • Versatility in quickly absorbing information combined with well-rounded experience.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organise workload to accommodate changing requirements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
