Company Description: AS Aerospace Limited have an exciting opportunity for a full time Aircraft Handler based at Denham Aerodrome, UB9 5DF. The main job description is shown below:
- Ensure aircraft are out of the hangar ready for scheduled departures, refuelled and with the correct fuel and seating configuration.
- Be responsible for keeping the aircraft in showroom condition as per their cleaning schedules/requirements.
- Assist the engineering team with engineering requirements when needed, de-paneling aircraft, cleaning parts and components.
- Ensuring the ground handling equipment is serviced, operational and safe to use.
- Ensuring the forklift and tug are fully operational, serviced and charged.
- Keeping on top of the general husbandry around the hangar, working with the engineers.
- Ensure workshops are kept in a clean and organised manner.
- Take a lead on the disposal of waste ensuring fuel deliveries and to organise that waste fuel are taken care of.
- Assist around the hangar and business where necessary, ensuring bins are emptied and the hangar is tidy.
- Keeping all walkways safe for use, ensuring safety signs are displayed correctly when any cleaning or maintenance work is being undertaken.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in aircraft ground handling, parking, and towing procedures.
- Familiarity with hangar safety practices and airside safety regulations.
- An aviation enthusiast, who is at home working on a busy airfield, within a dynamic helicopter maintenance facility.
- Proactive, a real team player with a flexible approach and the confidence to work on their own when required.
- Ability to communicate well, think clearly under pressure and with the ability to problem solve.
- Would suit school or college leaver who is interested in pursuing a career in helicopter maintenance or someone who has a passion for aviation and wants to work with a great team of engineers.
- Must enjoy a very hands-on role.
Full training will be given. Must have:
- Excellent spatial awareness.
- Must be physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.
- Own a valid UK driver's licence and have their own vehicle to get to/from work due to location of business.
- Must be reliable, have excellent time keeping and be able to work to tight deadlines.
- The Right to work in the UK.
