Membership and Professional Development Executive
The Royal Aeronautical Society is a professional body dedicated to aerospace communities.
We exist to further the advancement of aeronautical art, science and engineering around the world.
We are recruiting for a Membership and Professional Development Executive to support the recruitment, engagement, retention and professional development activities of the Society.
The role will work across membership operations, communications, events, stakeholder engagement and professional development initiatives, helping to deliver an excellent experience for members and prospective members while supporting the Society's strategic growth objectives.
Working closely with employers, universities, industry partners and members, the postholder will play an important role in promoting membership, professional registration and continuing professional development opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include
- Supporting membership recruitment, conversion, retention and engagement activities.
- Providing advice and guidance on membership, professional registration and professional development opportunities.
- Coordinating onboarding and engagement activities for new and existing members.
- Supporting the promotion and delivery of continuing professional development (CPD) and mentoring initiatives.
- Building and maintaining relationships with employers, universities, training providers, students, graduates and other stakeholders.
- Delivering presentations, workshops, briefings and membership guidance sessions to a range of audiences.
- Representing the Society at exhibitions, airshows, careers fairs, stakeholder meetings and industry events.
- Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of membership, professional development and outreach events.
- Producing and coordinating content for email campaigns, newsletters, websites, social media and promotional materials.
- Maintaining accurate membership and stakeholder records within CRM systems and supporting data quality activities.
- Producing reports and analysis to support recruitment, retention, engagement and professional development objectives.
- Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of member journeys, engagement programmes and departmental processes.
- General Duties
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and represent the Society in a professional manner at all times.
- Liaise with colleagues, members and stakeholders to actively promote opportunities and support organisational objectives.
- Undertake all responsibilities in accordance with Society policies and procedures.
- Regular UK travel andsome attendance at evening and weekend events may be required.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
- Educated to Level 3 standard or equivalent experience.
- Relevant professional experience or training in a related field.
- Degree, apprenticeship or other higher education qualification.
Experience
- Experience working within a membership organisation, professional body, charity, education environment or customer-focused organisation.
- Experience providing advice and guidance to customers, members or stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating events, workshops, webinars or engagement activities.
- Experience producing communications and promotional materials for a range of audiences.
- Experience maintaining CRM systems or customer databases.
- Experience supporting marketing, communications or engagement campaigns.
- Experience working with employers, universities, apprentices, students or early-career professionals.
- Experience representing an organisation at exhibitions, conferences orother events.
- Experience of membership recruitment, retention or engagement activities.
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Dotdigital or similar systems.
- Experience of Canva, In Design or other design software.
