The Royal Aeronautical Society is a professional body dedicated to the aerospace community.
We exist to further the advancement of aeronautical art, science and engineering around the world.
We are recruiting for a Membership Officer to support the delivery of high-quality membership services, member communications and administrative processes across the Society.
The role will provide first-line support to members, prospective members and registrants, helping to ensure enquiries are handled professionally and efficiently while maintaining accurate membership records and supporting member engagement activities.
Key responsibilities will include
- Providing support to members, prospective members and registrants via email, telephone and other communication channels.
- Assisting with the administration of membership applications, transfers, upgrades, reinstatements and professional registration processes.
- Processing membership subscription payments and supporting related administrative activities.
- Maintaining accurate membership, registration and contact records within the Society's CRM system.
- Supporting data quality and data cleansing activities to ensure the accuracy and integrity of membership records.
- Assisting with membership recruitment, retention and engagement initiatives.
- Supporting the preparation and delivery of membership communications, email campaigns and digital engagement activities.
- Assisting with the maintenance of membership-related website content and member information resources.
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of membership events, exhibitions, webinars and promotional activities.
- Promoting the benefits of membership, professional registration and professional development opportunities.
- Supporting membership stands and engagement activities at Society events and exhibitions.
- General Duties
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and represent the Society in a professional manner.
- Undertake all responsibilities with reference to Society procedures.
- Undertake any reasonable duties as requested by the Line Manager and Senior Leadership Team.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
- Educated to Level 3 or equivalent.
- Degree, apprenticeship or higher education qualification.
Experience
- Experience working in an administrative, customer service, membership or customer-facing role.
- Experience handling enquiries professionally by telephone and email.
- Experience using databases, CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience working within a membership organisation, professional body, charity or not-for-profit environment.
- Experience using Dynamics 365 or similar CRM systems.
- Experience supporting email marketing campaigns and member communications.
- Experience supporting events, exhibitions or member engagement activities.
