Location: Portsmouth

We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an Electrical Design Engineer. The role will be based in Portsmouth but offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible working hours. Individual circumstances can be discussed.

They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. Working as part of the Design Services- Electrical team, their engineers have a variety of backgrounds, coming from a combination of Industry, Armed Forces and through their own Apprenticeship Schemes. Working in tandem with their Structures, HVAC, Mechanical and Safety Teams they provide through life electrical engineering support to all Royal Naval Surface Fleet, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Submarine Platforms.

This role provides electrical design and integration support for the introduction of new systems and equipment across maritime platforms. It covers the full design lifecycle, from early feasibility and ship survey activities through to detailed electrical design and installation documentation.

Main Responsibilities:
