We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world's leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Pipefitter. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern. The company works at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. They are looking for a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join their team in Clyde. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and installing piping systems across a range of projects in the defence sector, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
There are 3 shifts available and the successful candidate would start on a day shift with discussion on preferred shifts. A 33% shift allowance applies to night and weekend shifts. Overtime rates are provided in the Benefits section.

- Day Shift: Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 4:30pm
- Night Shift: Monday – Thursday 8:30pm – 6:00am
- Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday 7:00am – 7:30pm

- Main Responsibilities
- Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using copper, CuNi, carbon steel and stainless steel
- Using a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes and install pipework
- Installing utilities aboard ships (sinks, showers, toilets)
- Install and assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to drawings and specifications
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion
- Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures at all times

- About You
- Essential: Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers with relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture, installation, and use of associated equipment
- Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH and Risk Assessments
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or similar within an industrial or commercial environment
- Desirable
- Marine Pipefitting Experience
- Experience in industrial or commercial settings
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience in TIG pipe welding
