We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an Electrician. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern.
The company is at the forefront of designing and building world-leading naval ships. Their work is vital to supporting the security and defence of nations around the globe and they pride themselves on delivering high-quality and innovative solutions. As part of a growing team, they are looking for a talented and experienced Electrician to join them in delivering eight Type 26 frigates to the Royal Navy.
As an Electrician, you will play a key role in the installation of electrical systems on their state-of-the-art naval vessels. Their skilled electrical teams work on a variety of scope from advanced military communication systems and weapons systems to small power and lighting systems.
There are 3 shifts available:
- Day Shift: Monday- Thursday 7.00am- 4.30pm
- Night Shift: Monday- Thursday 8.30pm- 6.00am
- Weekend Shift: Friday- Sunday 7am- 7.30pm
Overtime is also available. You will also be required to submit your trade certificates after an initial phone call with our recruiter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation of a variety of types of cables (multi-core, single-core and co-axial) electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches etc.)
- Cable termination and installation of all electrical equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations
- Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards

- Overtime Pay rates: Monday- Thursday: 1.33 (Time and a 3rd), Saturday: 1.5 (Time and a half), Sunday: 2.00 (Double time)
