Overview

Job Title: Commercial Administrator

Salary: up to £28,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Location: Wendens Ambo (Saffron Walden) / Braintree from January 2026

An opportunity to join an approved Part 145 MRO as a Commercial Administrator at their site just outside Saffron Walden, Essex for the next few months. The role will then be based in Braintree from January 2026 as the company moves sites to support expansion. The company develops new repairs for aircraft components via Part 21J design and has a full range of C- ratings as well as a CAA BCAR approved aerospace welding workshop. They provide component repairs to operators including Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, ATR and Bombardier, offering solutions on reliability, reducing delays, and lowering stockholding requirements and costs.

Purpose of the role: Co-ordinate production of the workshops to achieve Safety, Quality and production targets in line with the company’s global objectives. Plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency and communicate effectively up and down the chain with Employees, Team Leaders and Managers for optimum performance and maximum productivity. Manage administration and customer service processes to deliver end-to-end service to major airline companies, including producing estimates and managing approvals.

Working pattern: Permanent, Monday–Friday, 8.00am–4.30pm. On-site, full-time; no hybrid working.

Responsibilities

  • Regular liaison with Aviation Partners to manage, track and progress maintenance and repair of airline components
  • Flag supply issues (shortages or delays) and liaise with Purchasing, Planning and Engineering Team Leaders to meet deadlines
  • Accurately input information into in-house database systems (Aerotrack)
  • Produce quotes and estimates, send to customers and manage approvals on return
  • Identify and implement processes to improve quality of service and productivity
  • Handle customer service issues and perform general administrative duties
  • Respond to customer questions
  • Support team members and provide cover for annual leave (Sales, Estimating, Purchasing)
  • Answer incoming/external phone calls
  • Ensure company documents are up to date on the website
  • Participate in Company Profit Sharing, Pension, and Employee Assistance Programme

  • Occasional overtime with time in lieu; weekend overtime paid at 1.5x

Qualifications and About You

  • Experience in a busy sales/customer service department
  • GCSE or equivalent
  • Ideally experience in an Aerospace Engineering company (not essential)
  • Knowledge of planning, monitoring and managing workloads to meet production targets
  • Knowledge of office administrative procedures
  • Experience in managing quotes/estimates is highly desirable
  • Proficient in relevant software applications
  • Proactive personality, teamwork, planning and organising, and problem solving
