Aeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Mechanical Technician, to be based at their site in Stansted. The successful candidate would be expected to be on site 5 days per week.

They are a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.
This role is working a 39 hour week. Hours of work are Monday- Thursday: 8am- 4.30pm and Friday: 8am- 4pm.
Main Responsibilities
- Disassemble, test, fault find and repair various safety equipment for slides, rafts and their sub components.
- Reassemble a variety of safety equipment, slides, rafts and their sub components in accordance with CMM’s / OHM’s and OEM packing instructions.

About You
- Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
- OEM training in maintenance and overhaul of safety equipment (highly desirable)
- Experience of repairing and packing aircraft safety equipment (highly desirable).
- Previous experience of working in an engineering/ workshop environment (highly desirable)
- Prior experience of interpreting and following in detail compliance manuals.
- Working within a small team of skilled fitters, reliability, flexibility and teamwork are key skill requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships
- Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and multi-task whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Strong communicator (written and verbal)
- Positive, enthusiastic, confident and motivated
