Location: Didsbury, Manchester

We currently have a vacancy to join a British, regional airline as a Maintrol Engineer, to be based in Didsbury, Manchester. Established almost 20 years ago, they currently have a fleet of 20 aircraft and operate a network of domestic and European services serving both the business and leisure markets. They hold a UK CAA Type A Operating Licence.

You’ll work at the heart of the business, engaging with all aspects of the operation to deliver safe, reliable aircraft performance to the highest standards. They operate a 5-5-4 shift pattern with 2 weekends off per month guaranteed (day and night shifts).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the central coordination point between Line Stations, third‑party maintenance providers and pilots to ensure safe and reliable daily operations.
  • Manages scheduled and unscheduled Line Maintenance activities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and maintenance programme requirements.
  • Controls and monitors Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs), driving timely rectification and coordinating required spares, tooling and documentation.
  • Supports aircraft recovery through technical guidance, logistics coordination and oversight of crew duty‑time limitations.
  • Provides real‑time technical assistance to flight crews and engineers during in‑flight or ground‑based operational issues.
  • Coordinates information flow following aircraft incidents and contributes to recovery planning.
  • Allocates aircraft in line with operational, engineering and maintenance priorities.
  • Responsible for improving aircraft and Engineering performance through proactive use of Aircraft monitoring and prognostic tools.
  • Provides specialist technical support as required with due regard for safety, technical, regulatory and commercial requirements.

About You:

  • UK/ EASA Part‑66 B1 or B2 Licence
  • Experience in a maintenance or maintenance‑control environment
  • Proven ability to deliver cost‑effective solutions
  • Experience improving efficiency and reducing operational costs
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes
  • Good understanding of airline operations and procedures
  • Computer literate, ideally with experience in MS Office and maintenance systems
  • Experience working on Embraer 170/190 or similar technology aircraft is desirable but not essential
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information
  • Effective influencing and communication skills
  • High level of situational awareness and decision‑making capability
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload in a high‑pressure operational environment
