We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Paralegal. The role will be based in Glasgow and offers a hybrid working pattern (2-3 days per week on site). This will be working a 37 hour week with a 1pm finish on Fridays. Flexible working hours are also available.
The company works at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. They design and manufacture a diverse range of naval ships and advanced combat systems that support complex global maritime operations. Their work spans offshore patrol vessels to the latest City Class Type 26 frigates for the UK Royal Navy, as well as major international programmes including the Australian Hunter Class and Canadian River-Class Destroyer. You will be joining the Naval Ships Inhouse Legal Team who are a highly skilled, commercial legal team supporting nationally significant programmes during global uncertainty. They are redefining in-house practice through strategic insight, innovation and excellence. Their remarkable work has protected the organisation and focused on growth, reinforcing their critical role in the business’s continued success.
Main Responsibilities:
- You will be drafting, reviewing and revising a wide range of contracts while supporting negotiations under solicitor supervision.
- You will have responsibility for data protection tasks, including preparing responses to data subject access requests.
- Ensure you implement and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures.
- You will be developing and updating contract templates, guidance materials and related documentation.
- Conducting legal research and communicating clear, concise findings to the Legal team and stakeholders.

About You:
- You will hold an English or Scottish legal qualification, such as a Law Degree, GDL or CILEX.
- Paralegal or commercial contracting experience which demonstrates sound knowledge of contract law and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Experience of data protection matters including dealing with data subject access requests is preferable.
- Experience of the defence or multi-faceted regulated environments is advantageous.
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
