David Hart Aerospace Pipes Limited manufactures high-precision pipes and ducts in aluminium, titanium, nimonic alloys and stainless steels. Serving primarily the aerospace sector—and also motorsport (F1)—the company has continued to grow steadily since 1999. We are now seeking a Junior Estimator to support our Sales and Operations teams. This is an excellent development role for someone with strong attention to detail, good numeracy skills and an interest in engineering or manufacturing. Full training and support will be provided.
Role Purpose
The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing quotations, responding to customer RFQs, tracking orders and supporting internal coordination. The role provides essential administrative and analytical support to ensure accurate costings, timely customer responses and smooth order progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of quotations and costings under guidance from senior colleagues.
- Log and follow up customer RFQs to help convert opportunities into confirmed orders.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, costings and customer interactions.
- Assist in monitoring the order book and supporting reports on monthly progress.
- Work closely with Production, Planning and Procurement to confirm availability and timelines.
- Update internal systems with pricing, lead times and customer information.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying small inefficiencies or data issues.
- Carry out general administrative tasks and provide support to the wider sales/operations team.
Skills and Qualifications (Junior Level)
- Ideally some experience within an engineering, manufacturing, aerospace or technical environment (desirable but not essential).
- Strong numeracy skills with the ability to understand basic cost calculations.
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn commercial and customer-facing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and documents.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); training will be provided.
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and work within deadlines.
- A collaborative team player who is open to feedback and development.
- Flexibility to support different tasks as business needs evolve.
