Mission: What does the role look like? As a Machinist within our Global Defence Systems value stream, you will play a key role in producing complex components to support critical defence programmes. Working on 4-axis CNC milling machines, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and machining precision parts to exacting standards, while contributing to continuous improvement across the value stream.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
- Set and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc control systems.
- Machine complex components to tight tolerances, following engineering drawings.
- Carry out tool changes, manage speeds and feeds, and ensure process efficiency.
- Use a variety of in-process gauging and inspection equipment to verify component quality.
- Apply continuous improvement methods within a manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues across the production team.

Essential skills:- Qualification in a relevant Engineering/Manufacturing subject;
- Proven experience working on 4-axis CNC milling machines;
- Background in mechanical/manufacturing engineering within a production environment.
- Knowledge of control systems and process optimisation;

- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies;
