Responsibilities
- Joining the new 4th Generation Bevel Gear manufacturing team as a Final Viewer.
- Responsible for the final inspection and verification of gear assemblies at full production volumes.
- Support development and prototype work, working closely with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to validate and release new products.
- Support both new and legacy gear programmes, contributing to the wider operational needs of the team.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant quality procedures and requirements.
- Work to route cards, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
- Verify Quality Assured Product, including completion and stamping of Works Orders.
- Visual inspection and confirmation of conformance to product standards.
- Material traceability and serialisation (as required).
- Issue and Build Standard (version) control.
- Quality compliance, including FAI coverage, concessions, permits, and release gateways.
- Completion of quality documentation and QN closure.
- Gateway inspections for quality checklists and additional alerts.
- Apply basic measurement techniques and hand-gauging methods.
- Perform part cleaning and protection activities.
- Identify and declare non-conformances, working with Quality to disposition parts.
- Finalise paperwork and complete system transactions prior to dispatch.
- Operate and maintain stock control systems as required.
- Support general operational duties, including continuous improvement and 5S activities.
- Carry out all tasks in accordance with EH&S procedures.
Qualifications
- Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in a relevant discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach.
- Previous assembly and inspection experience (desirable).
- Completed apprenticeship (desirable).
- Ability to work independently within a medium-volume production environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- PC literacy, with the ability to perform basic transactional tasks.
