Mission description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager within Actuation Systems. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, high-achieving individual who will report to the Aftermarket Senior Programme Manager, taking responsibility for a portfolio of Military Aftermarket platforms. The role requires a structured and methodical approach to project planning, cost control, and customer engagement. You will be working in a dynamic environment where your expertise in project management tools and lifecycle phases will play a critical role in driving successful project outcomes.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Act as the key point of contact for customers at a working level, ensuring customer satisfaction and conducting market feedback analysis.
  • Drive all project outcomes related to cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Utilise advanced project management tools & techniques to support execution and tracking.
  • Own and manage project control tasks, including maintaining schedules, baseline data, and actual dates.
  • Gather, analyse, and distribute key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress.
  • Administer key project meetings such as risk review and change management boards.
  • Support internal and external project data generation for governance and reviews.
  • Ensure project governance and compliance with the Collins Management System (CMS).
  • Maintain resource plans, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Contribute to key project documentation, including Program Plans, Support Plans, and cadence reviews.

  • Strong customer focus, understanding key stakeholder needs and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, effectively conveying information across Integrated Project Development Teams (IPDT) and senior stakeholders.
  • Project management expertise, with knowledge of lifecycle phases, cost management, and risk assessment.

Desirable skills:

  • Highly flexible and adaptable, responding to changing business priorities and project scope.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving approach with a structured and methodical execution style.
  • Experience or specialist knowledge in Aftermarket project management, governance, or specific project management tools.
  • APM (or equivalent) accreditation PFQ level preferred.
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) with specialist knowledge in project management tools, policies, and standards across multiple lifecycle phases.
