Job Summary
Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a thorough understanding of all aspects of electrical design, working within the aerospace industry.
Scope of Responsibilities
Based in Cwmbran, South Wales, working as part of the Electrical Design Department. Responsible for the management of teams producing electrical installation models and detail drawings for new product and platform designs. Also responsible for the checking and approval of all electrical design work to meet company, regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage electrical engineering platform teams.
- Ensure standards and performances are achieved by the design team.
- Supervise and co-ordinate design activities.
- Responsible for the management and control of daily attendance and holidays for your engineering team including absence management.
- Assist in recruitment of team members as and when required.
- Carry out professional development reviews and ensure any KPI set for the year are achieved.
- Manage and deliver electrical systems programmes as per agreed schedules and budgets.
- Responsible for the Electrical submittals.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies (EASA, FAA, Boeing and Airbus) to certify the electrical systems installed in their aircraft.
- Check and approve systems drawings and documents ensuring compliance to OEMs and regulatory requirements.
- Produce and update electrical standard and process documentation.
- Liaise with electrical equipment manufacturers to finalise the equipment and their installation specifications.
- Report to senior management about the status of the programmes.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers; some UK and overseas travel may be required.
