The Opportunity: In this role, you’ll lead learning and development activity across Prestwick Aerosystems. You’ll be responsible for supporting and implementing the site training strategy, running the Technical Training School, and supporting managers to build capability within their teams. This is a hands‑on leadership role, working closely with operational and functional leaders to deliver practical training solutions, develop early careers pathways, and support long-term talent and succession planning.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the site-wide learning and development strategy, aligned to business priorities and operational needs.
- Own the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of the Technical Training School and Learning Resource Centre.
- Lead early careers activity, including apprenticeships, work experience, and STEM engagement.
- Work with managers to identify training needs, maintain capability maps, and support succession and talent planning.
- Lead and develop the L&D team and manage the central training budget, sourcing effective internal and external training solutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience leading learning and development activity within a technical, manufacturing, or operational environment.
- Experience managing a training function, academy, or technical training school.
- Experience leading and developing a small team.
- Relevant professional or vocational qualification in learning, training, or development.
