In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England. The purpose of this role is to:
- Promote health, safety and environment communication and awareness campaigns.
- Provide HSE advice and support to the business areas.
- Ensure compliance to all legal and Group standards, reviewing and reporting performance.
- Investigate, monitor and report accidents, incidents and near misses within the workplace, ensuring safety measures and corrective actions are implemented.
- Inspect areas to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures, policies and legislation.
- Assist in developing HSE policies and procedures.
- Monitor HSE budget and raise purchase requests.
- Liaise with external HSE authorities to help ensure compliance and adherence.
- Ensure internal and external audit actions are tracked and implemented by the action owner, and assist in corrective measures.
- Liaise with HSE training providers to ensure HSE training is available and provided.
- Facilitate the weekly HSE meeting with business units and provide advice and support on their Objective Improvement Plans (OIPs).
- Coordinate HSE training through internal and external training providers.
- Provide periodic updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on HSE progress and actions.
- Represent SSGB at Safran Group and UK HSE forums and promote best practice sharing and incident report corrective actions.
- Support Risk and COSHH assessments and ensure compliance.
- Monitor and order Personal Protective Equipment.
- Be the focal point for HSE communications, liaising with internal and external communications to promote safe working practices and workplace.
- Report SSGB incident, accident/near miss and environmental data utilising Safran IT tools.
- Monitor Total Injury Frequency Rate (TIFR).
- Seek continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assist HR in periodic health surveillance programmes.
- Undertake other duties and tasks as may be reasonably requested by their manager.
- Support the Head of HSE SSGB in their role and responsibilities.
Candidate skills:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
- Mental Health First Aid.
- First Aid at Work (FAW).
- Fire Marshal.
- Knowledge and proficiency in HSE regulations and legislation.
- Computer literate with MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
- Ability to work unsupervised / self-motivated.
- Management system knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
