Airbus is seeking a Head of Environmental Health & Safety to lead our EHS initiatives. Reporting to the Head of EHS UK, the successful candidate will oversee a small EHS team and implement effective environmental health and safety systems. This role requires strategic planning to minimize risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and employee well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental health and safety policies aligned with regulations and industry standards.
- Lead and support a team of EHS professionals, providing resources and training.
- Monitor regulatory trends and implement improvements proactively.
- Collaborate with departments to integrate EHS considerations into operations.
- Conduct audits, identify non-compliance issues, and recommend improvements.
- Report on EHS initiatives to senior management.
- Identify and strategize around emerging EHS risks.
- Foster a safety and sustainability culture across the organization.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including authorities and community groups.
- Stay updated on legislation and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in EHS management, preferably in industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001 standards.
- Understanding of UK EHS regulations.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Fluent in English.
