As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enabling the company’s transition from a research and development project to serial production of the HAPS Zephyr Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and associated Ground Support Equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, qualifying, and optimising the production system to ensure safety, quality, cost, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver shop floor requirements to the Facilities Management team and create/update MRP system routings, job cards, standard operating instructions, and quality control measures.
  • Perform Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design to Cost (DTC) studies to provide input to the design teams.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance, Ground Support Equipment (MGSE), Jig, and Tools teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
  • Derive and enable production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with the operations teams.
  • Continuously improve the production system to align with business targets and foster a "Right First Time" quality culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in the aerospace and/or space industry, preferably in areas such as avionics assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Expertise in creating assembly process instructions, ERP routings, and applying RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) methodology.
  • Proficiency in using PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tools, such as Arena and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry, with knowledge of relevant certifications and standards (e.g., CAA, Part G, Part J).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluency in English to a negotiation level.
