Job Description:
Aerial Platforms Ltd is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Service Engineer to join our team based at our Durham depot. As a Mobile Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our powered access equipment, providing technical support and assistance to our customers on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing, repairs, and inspections on a variety of powered access equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers, both in the workshop and on customer sites.
- Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Utilise your technical expertise to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and implement effective solutions to resolve them promptly and efficiently.
- Fault Finding: Perform thorough fault finding and diagnostic tests on equipment systems and components, utilising appropriate tools and equipment to identify and rectify issues.
- Repairs and Replacements: Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty or damaged parts, ensuring the use of correct procedures and high-quality components to maintain equipment reliability and safety.
- Customer Support: Provide technical assistance and support to customers on-site, including troubleshooting equipment issues, offering guidance on safe operation and maintenance practices, and addressing any concerns or queries they may have.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service and repair activities, including service reports, inspection sheets, and parts usage, and submit detailed reports to the Service Manager as required.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while carrying out service and repair tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a service engineer, ideally within the powered access, plant or rail industries.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of powered access equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing your workload effectively and meeting deadlines.
- Full UK driving license.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) preferred.
