About the role
We are looking for a proactive Shipping & Logistics Administratorto join our high-performing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is vital in ensuring the seamless movement of goods from global suppliers to our facilities and customers. You\’ll be at the heart of our import operations, managing clearance processes, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance, all while keeping communication flowing across teams.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee all aspects of import logistics, ensuring customs compliance and timely clearances.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to prevent delays and avoid excess charges.
- Issue accurate and timely clearance instructions.
- Track international shipments and troubleshoot clearance issues as they arise.
- Review and reconcile freight invoices, identifying discrepancies or unusual charges.
- Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate cost coding and prompt payment processing.
- Support inventory management, including regular stock counts and system accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with Known Consignor regulations and support audits or documentation requirements.
- Assist the wider warehouse and logistics team with daily operations and ad hoc tasks.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant industry experience in a shipping and logistics administration role
- Strong knowledge of international freight, customs processes, and compliance regulations.
- Quantum experience is beneficial
- General aviation experience and knowledge are a plus
- Knowledge of UK Tariff/Commodity codes and the tax implications they may have on the business is desirable
- A confident communicator and team player who thrives in cross-functional environments.
- Detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and solutions-focused.
- This role involves physical activity, including regular standing, walking, and lifting.
